So many sandwiches are unexciting and even dull; the same type of bread with the same type of meat in the same type of establishments. Well Minnie’s has certainly broken out of the dull sandwich mold! Although Minnie’s Sandwich Restaurant has only been around for twelve years the story behind their signature Minnie’s burger started in 1975 at Jonathan Segal’s 6th birthday party where his mother deemed them too little to eat a full sized cheeseburger and so she came up with the minnieburger. Jonathan introduced this burger to the menu at Chicago’s P.J. Clarke’s fourteen years later. It quickly became a signature item and the basis for Minnie’s Sandwich Restaurant. All of Minnie’s sandwiches are petite replicas of larger sandwiches. Each sandwich is held together by one of Minnie’s signature “M” toothpicks and usually has an adornment of some nature on the top. Served with their infamous frites it is a tiny sandwich that can’t be beat.
